I discovered a fun new feature recently on WordPress. Whenever you create a page or post you can choose to have the featured image at the top of the post generated by AI based on the content. This has led to literally hours of enjoyment for me in the past few days as I’ve done work on multiple sites. I haven’t actually used it yet. I just enjoy looking at the pictures. I laugh at every single one of them.
As much fun as I’m having, I will also find it incredibly helpful. I struggle with photos nearly every time I write something. For instance, Amy Winehouse was the topic of my last post. I didn’t have any pictures of Amy. Should I create something of my own or steal someone else’s from the internet? It feels unethical to use someone else’s photography when I don’t even know how to ask someone for permission, nor do I want to. If it’s a post about music I usually just snap a picture of that artist’s vinyl spinning on my turntable while the album sleeve is displayed above. It’s boring, but it works and I don’t have to steal others’ work.
A few months ago I posted a story about my nephew Will and his high school basketball career. I used a lot of photos for the post but I only took one or two of them. I’ve written hundreds of posts about Prince and D’Angelo for this site and always stole someone else’s photography. Guess what? My moral and ethical dilemma is over. I won’t be doing that anymore.
Instead, from this point forward mookiefantana.com will feature AI generated featured images. If you think that my sole purpose for writing this is to see what kind of photo AI will create based on this post, you’re 100% correct. If there isn’t some warped photo of Amy Winehouse, Prince, D’Angelo, and Will Hornseth at the top of this post consider me very disappointed. I’m beyond excited about my blogging future with an AI artist in my repertoire.
Also, River Styx. I’m just adding that to see if it shows up in the photo. It’d be cool to see Amy, Prince, D, and Will at the River Styx. Let’s see what happens…
wtf is all that shit in the background? I mostly see fruit? I think?
